Nigel Strike is a Corrosion Supervisor at Boardwalk Pipelines' Natural Gas & Liquids Pipeline Group, based in Houston, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry and is an AMPP Corrosion Specialist and CIP Level 1, as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Corrosion. With over 30 years of experience, he has worked on cathodic protection projects in numerous countries worldwide.

SPEAKER #2 : AUSTIN MORGAN

Presentation: Phased Installation of AC Mitigation on Non-Regulated Gas Gathering Pipelines

Austin Morgan is an Asset Integrity Technical Specialist at Williams, with 15 years of experience specializing in the various phases of corrosion control. Throughout his career, he has focused primarily on corrosion mitigation for wet and sour gas gathering assets. His comprehensive knowledge and experience contribute to the ongoing integrity and reliability of critical assets.

Austin holds an A.A.S. in Corrosion Technology from Kilgore College and a B.B.A in Law & Economics from West Texas A&M University. Professionally, he holds certifications as AMPP CP-2 Technician, Senior Internal Corrosion Technologist, Senior Corrosion Technologist and Coatings Inspector Level 1. 

Additionally, Austin is passionate about supporting further generations by serving as the AMPP Eagle Ford Chapter Treasurer, the Williams United Way Coordinator and involvement in many local non-profits.

Outside of his professional applications, Austin enjoys spending time on his farm with his family and the many animals that seem to need a lot of attention.

SPEAKER #3 : LYNDON HOEL

Company: Williams G&P Assets

A Chemical Engineering graduate from Oklahoma State University, he began his career as a Pipeline Engineer at TRC Solutions, a consulting firm in Tulsa, OK. His work included multi-year project engineering, supporting the design and routing of a 42” pipeline to an LNG facility in Cameron, LA. Since joining Williams in 2017, he initially focused on developing project standards and, since 2019, has specialized in DOT regulatory compliance with 49 CFR 192 and 195, as well as state regulatory requirements for Williams G&P. In 2023, he became the Pipeline Safety Manager for Williams G&P assets.

SPEAKER #4: Marilyn Lewis

Presentation: Cathodic Protection – A Source of Interference

Marilyn Lewis is from the US where she is the owner and principal engineer of Lewis Engineering, PLLC. She has specialized in cathodic protection design, installation, and surveying for over 41 years. Marilyn has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer. She has been a NACE member since 1983 and a NACE Cathodic Protection Specialist for 35 years. Marilyn has been a NACE CP instructor since 1996 and presently is a lead instructor for all four NACE CP certification courses.

SPEAKER #5 : BEN BUSSARD

Presentation: Corrosion Protection Criteria: From Basic to Difficult

Ben started his corrosion experience in his teens since he worked for his father (CP Specialist – CP4) regularly performing surveys and installations. He graduated from Kilgore College with a degree in Corrosion Technology in 2008, went to work for Energy Transfer (ETC) as a corrosion tech, then soon thereafter got his CP4 certification at the age of 27. Now having the highest CP certification, he was promoted to Specialist for ETC and moved to Houston. In 2013 he transitioned to working for Shell Pipeline in the operations group as technician support and database manager, then to the engineering group as the head office specialist in charge of all corrosion work (coatings, internal, and CP) for new construction design, operating procedures, and best practices. In 2020 he started with Consulex as the Director of Integrity & Corrosion Services.
